In a shocking case from Guwahati, Assam, police recovered the body of a 10-year-old boy stuffed inside a suitcase on the city’s outskirts. The boy had been reported missing a day earlier by his mother.
According to officials, the woman had approached the police on Saturday, stating that her son had not returned home after attending tuition classes. Following the complaint, authorities launched an investigation into the disappearance.
Mother’s Lover Confesses to Crime
During the probe, police discovered that the mother, who lives separately from her husband, was in a relationship with a man named Jitumoni Haloi. Upon interrogation, Haloi confessed to the murder and led officers to the spot where the body had been dumped. The child’s remains were found stuffed in a suitcase and left hidden in a bush on the city’s outskirts.
Police arrested Haloi shortly after the confession. The boy’s mother has also been detained and is currently being questioned regarding her potential involvement in the murder.
Father Records Statement with Police
The victim’s father, who is separated from the mother, has recorded his official statement with the investigating team. Police have not yet confirmed whether the mother had prior knowledge of the murder or participated in any way.
