Hollywood actor Vin Diesel sent a social media homage on the ninth anniversary of the passing of his late co-star Paul Walker.
Diesel posted a picture of the two on Instagram along with the message, “Nine years… love you and miss you.”
With the exception of one of the six action-packed blockbusters, Walker rode the “Fast & Furious” franchise to success, starting with the first movie in 2001.
The Los Angeles native’s blonde hair and blue eyes gave the well-liked street-racing series California surfer good looks and an easy, welcoming charm.
Walker, who was 40 years old at the time of his death, was killed in an automobile accident on November 30, 2013. According to Fox News, when deputies arrived at the accident site, a Porsche Carrera GT was discovered completely engulfed in flames.
Diesel expressed his sorrow for Walker’s passing during a visit on the SiriusXM show in 2017 saying, “I’m still reeling from the loss, the idea of continuing along without my brother Pablo, and what that felt like and the complexities of that.”
“If I ever had a concern about something, I would call him. And I don’t have that call now and I don’t have that person that’s dreaming up the impossible with me. One of the things that makes this film so magical, the relationships are so powerful that they bleed off the screen…”
Meadow Walker is Walker’s daughter. Meadow’s godfather, Diesel, helped her walk down the aisle at her wedding in October 2021.
