Vigilance Bureau for strict action against officials

Fifteen inquiries were finalised and final reports have been sent to the Haryana Vigilance Department.

In a bid to prevent corruption in Haryana, two inquiries were registered in February as per orders of the state government against one gazetted officer (GO) and three non-gazetted officers (NGOs) and officers/officials of Haryana Staff Selection Commission.

As many as 15 inquiries were finalized and final reports have been sent to the Haryana Vigilance Department. Further probe in two inquiries have also been finalized by the bureau.

An official spokesperson of the bureau said that of the 15 inquiries completed, criminal case against four GOs, seven NGOS & seven private persons have been recommended in four inquiries.

In two of them, the bureau has recommended departmental action against two NGOs.

In two inquiries, criminal cases have been found registered with the local police.

In one inquiry, departmental action and criminal case against one GO and one NGO and departmental action against one GO and a criminal case against two private persons has been recommended.

The spokesperson further said the report of three special checking/technical reports was also sent by the bureau to the government, in which it was recommended to recover Rs 16,84,573 form the officials involved.

As many as 12 officials have been caught red-handed while accepting bribe and cases have been registered by the bureau under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and various other sections of Indian Penal code.

Some officials caught accepting bribe included Ravi Sharma, Ravi Shankar, Rajbir Singh, Ujender Singh, Maan Singh, Shri Bhagwan, inspector Jaiveer, Hariom, Anshu Prashar, and SI Jai Chand.

A complaint and inquiry has also been registered against Assistant Sub Inspector Mahesh, Police Station Sadar, Nuh, Mewat and Ranjeet Singh, Clerk, Revenue Department, Yamunagar.
