In a bizarre incident in Bihar’s Bhagalpur, a man bitten by one of the world’s most venomous snake, the Russell’s Viper, took an unexpected and daring step. The man, identified as Prakash Mandal, grabbed the snake by its mouth, wrapped it around his neck, and rushed to the hospital, leaving doctors and onlookers in shock.

A Dramatic Entry to the Hospital

Arriving at the hospital wearing a traditional dhoti, Prakash walked into the emergency ward, clutching the dangerous reptile in his hand. The unusual scene quickly caught the attention of patients and staff, some of whom kept their distance, fearing what might happen if the snake slipped from Prakash’s grip. Despite his obvious pain, Prakash refused to let go of the snake, ensuring that it stayed tightly in his hand as he lay on the hospital floor.

Doctors’ Struggle to Treat the Patient

As Prakash lay on a stretcher with the viper still in hand, medical staff found it challenging to administer treatment. The situation became even more urgent when a doctor warned that proper treatment would be impossible unless the snake was released. After some time, Prakash finally let go of the reptile, allowing the doctors to begin treatment.

Snake Bites a Major Threat in the Region

The Russell’s Viper, known for its deadly venom, is one of the leading causes of snakebite fatalities in regions ranging from India to Taiwan. In Bhagalpur, sightings of the snake are not uncommon, and there have been multiple incidents of viper rescues from homes and public places. Prakash’s condition remains uncertain, but he continues to receive medical care.

This incident highlights the ongoing threat posed by venomous snakes in rural areas, where human-snake encounters are frequent.
