Vedika Bhandari, who was recently seen in MX Player’s ‘Indori Ishq’ in a parallel lead role, won a lot of accolades for her role in the show. She was earlier seen in ‘Dream Girl’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana as the real Pooja. She got candid with The Daily Guardian in a special interview.

Excerpts:

Q. How has the response been to ‘Indori Ishq’?

Oh, it’s been crazy! We’ve had over a 55million views in a week and a half and the numbers are just growing. People have been appreciating my performance and it makes me so happy. My character has grey shades so I feel even if people criticise my character, as an actor I’ve succeeded. So I’m incredibly happy and cannot thank the audience enough for the love they’ve given to this show.

Q. What appealed to you the most about this role & project?

It is a true story, everything is based on true events. Every character, most of the incidents and getting to be a part of somebody’s real-life story is so tempting. Tara is such an enticing character. I feel today’s generation will relate to it more as she’s a young girl exploring her options. She gets bored easily, her not being a stereotypical good girl made me want to do the part. She’s confident and doesn’t regret her decisions.

Q. What have been your learnings through this lockdown phase?

I have learnt so much during this phase. I feel like the value of everything in my life has gone up. Every little thing that I’d probably taken for granted on another day has shown me its importance. I feel like this lockdown has brought me so much closer to my family and friends. I’m lucky to have been living with my family but people who are away from theirs I cannot even imagine what they went through.

This lockdown phase has also taught me how important mental health is, besides physically fitness. I would like to tell my fans to take care of their mental health.

Q. What’s coming up next for you?

I am in talks for few projects, nothing is confirmed yet but I’m sure when it will be, you will get to know.
