Amid the political crisis in Rajasthan, former Chief Minister and BJP national vice-president Vasundhara Raje is in Delhi for the past two days. She is in the national Capital at a time when the key players of “Operation Rajasthan”, Amit Shah and Dharmendra Pradhan, are undergoing treatment for Covid-19 infection.

The BJP national president J.P. Nadda is also in quarantine. With key leaders in the hospital and quarantined, Raje’s meeting with other leaders would be of no use.

It is a well-known fact that Raje has been doing politics on her own condition. In the politics of BJP, Raje has had an upper hand. She has again emerged an important political figure in the present crisis plaguing the Rajasthan politics. The BJP being on the back foot in the political fight so far, has gone in favour of Raje. However, BJP leaders are denying their role in any conspiracy to try to topple the government.

It is clear that Raje has distanced herself from the politics of sabotage which is going on in Rajasthan. All eyes were on her when reached Delhi from Dhoulpur. She has maintained silence over the developments in Rajasthan. She is not also meeting anyone at her Sarojini Nagar residence in Delhi. Sources said she did step out of her residence in the evening, but avoided meeting anyone or speaking to anyone. If she could meet Amit Shah only, then something concrete discussion would have taken place regarding the Rajasthan political drama.

Meanwhile, the High Court verdict which is to come on 11 August is being awaited in political circles. The BJP leadership is said to be keen to see things through without involving Vasundhara Raje. If the court verdict suits the BJP, then Raje will be kept aloof from this development. The BJP high command wants to push a new state leadership this time. But the BJP has not been successful so far without taking Raje on board in any of its missions in Rajasthan.
