On Saturday, the office bearers of the Uttarakhand Rajya Andolankari Manch visited Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Mukhya Sevak Sadan, his residence. They expressed their appreciation to the chief minister for arranging a 10% horizontal reservation in government jobs for state agitators.

The chief minister said, “Our goal is to make Uttarakhand the dream of the state agitators.
In this direction, we are working diligently with a resolve without any alternative. The people of the state will always remember the struggle of the state agitators in the formation of the state.”

He mentioned that he has personally witnessed the state formation movement and observed the Khatima people’s movement firsthand.

The chief minister stated that the state government will always remember the struggle and sacrifices made by the state agitators.

“Our government is working with commitment towards the development of the state in accordance with their dreams, giving top priority to their facilities.”

He noted that despite various challenges, the state government had decided to grant 10% reservation in government jobs to state agitators and their dependents. This horizontal reservation has now been implemented, addressing a significant, long-standing demand from the state agitators.

The chief minister, “Along with increasing the pensions of the state agitators, the state government has also decided to give pensions to their dependents after their deaths. We cannot forget the sacrifice of the martyred state agitators.”

The chief minister said, “Our state is continuously moving forward in the direction of development. The state has been ranked first in the index of development released by NITI Aayog. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state is continuously moving on the path of progress. Work is being done in the state on central schemes worth about Rs 2 lakh crores. Whether it is road construction, school construction or hospital or any work in the interest of the state, there will be no shortage of any kind of funds for this.”

He said, ‘We are moving towards making the state a drug-free state, for this not only the government but everyone will have to cooperate.”

The chief minister stated that while focusing on the state’s development, equal emphasis is being placed on environmental protection. He noted that the investor summit held last year attracted many industrialists to the state. This influx of investment will create job opportunities for local youth and help prevent migration.

He mentioned that approximately 5,000 acres of land have been reclaimed from illegal encroachment as part of efforts to address the issue. The chief minister also called for everyone’s cooperation in the state’s development.

The meeting was attended by Uttarakhand State Movement Forum President Jagmohan Singh Negi, former Vice President of the Uttarakhand State Movement Welfare Council Ravindra Jugran, Uttarakhand State Movement Forum State Spokesperson Pradeep Kukreti, and many other officials from the forum.
