On the occasion of Hindu New Year and Chaitra Navratri, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, accompanied by his wife Geeta Dhami, conducted the worship of Maa Adishakti Bhagwati. The Chief Minister offered prayers to Shaktiswarupa Jagatjanani Devi Maa for the happiness and prosperity of all the people of the state and for the progress of Uttarakhand. He also participated in Gauseva, feeding the cows.

Sharing pictures of the puja and rituals on X, Dhami wrote, “Prayed to Shakti Swaroopa Jagatjanani Devi Maa for the happiness and prosperity of all the residents of the state and for the progress of the state.”

Dhami extended his greetings to all the residents of the state on Chaitra Navratri and Hindu New Year, the festival of worship of Adishakti Maa Durga. He prayed to Maa Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga, for the well-being and prosperity of everyone. He also highlighted the efforts of his government for the empowerment and upliftment of women.

Chaitra Navratri is celebrated with great fervour across the country, starting on April 9 and continuing until April 17, with all nine days dedicated to honoring the nine incarnations of the goddess ‘Shakti’.

During his visit to campaign for BJP’s Pauri Garhwal candidate in Dhumakot, BJP leaders gave a grand welcome to Dhami. A large crowd gathered in support of CM Dhami, who was there to support BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate Anil Baluni, pitted against Congress’s Ganesh Godiyal in the battle for Pauri Garhwal.

Uttarakhand is set to vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19, with voting taking place for all five Lok Sabha seats in the state.
