Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has made a noteworthy step by emphasizing how urgent it is to build the Lucknow Metro to meet the state capital’s developing needs. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed all of the current metro services in Lucknow, Agra, and Kanpur in detail during a critical meeting on Tuesday. He underlined that the private sector has demonstrated a desire to work with the government to expand metro services, and he instructed officials to vigorously encourage this cooperation.

Several key directives were issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the special meeting:

1. New Metro Route Preparation: I instructed officials to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for a new metro route from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj via Chowk in Lucknow. Emphasized the need for suitability tests for both underground and elevated metro services and urged prompt submission of the proposal. This new phase aims to connect a significant population with modern urban transport facilities.

2. Extension of Existing Metro: advocated for the extension of the current Lucknow Metro, suggesting it be elongated up to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) on one side and the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) on the other. Encourage considering the public-private partnership (PPP) mode for expansion, with a focus on attracting private sector cooperation.

3. Boosting Commercial Activities: promoted the promotion of commercial activities in the Metro Rail complex. Emphasized the need for concrete arrangements regarding passenger services and security to enhance the overall metro experience.

4. Safety in Metro Projects: stressed the importance of ensuring safety arrangements during the execution of underground metro projects with strict adherence to established standards.

5. Timely Completion of Ongoing Projects: Highlighted ongoing work on two new phases of the metro in Kanpur and Agra. Emphasized the availability of ample funds for public-interest projects, urging timely releases. Encourage effective communication and coordination to ensure projects are completed within stipulated time frames.

6. Promotion of Electric Vehicles: Called for the encouragement of electric buses and e-rickshaws in Gautam Buddha Nagar and 17 municipal corporations.

This directive from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscores the commitment to enhancing public transportation infrastructure and aligning it with the evolving needs of the growing population in the state capital.
