As the Uttar Pradesh Assembly session commenced, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath introduced four new ministers to the House: OP Rajbhar, Anil Kumar, Dara Singh Chauhan, and Sunil Sharma.

“These four Cabinet Ministers were part of this Assembly. I introduce them as part of the Cabinet in this House,” Adityanath stated during his address. In a related development, Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana welcomed Samajwadi Party leader Mata Prasad Pandey, who has been appointed as the Leader of Opposition (LoP).

“I thank you for your gesture. The state is facing very serious issues currently—there is flooding, law and order concerns, and corruption,” Pandey noted. In response, Speaker Mahana assured, “We will discuss all of these issues. You are the LoP, and you have the right to give notices. We will discuss them, and the government is ready to answer.” During the session, Samajwadi Party (SP) MLAs protested over issues related to electricity, flooding, and law and order by entering the well of the House. Despite the protests, LoP and SP MLA Mata Prasad Pandey greeted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“I will try my best to raise the issues of the deprived people who have been neglected by this government in the Vidhan Sabha. We will address all issues, whether related to electricity, law and order, or governance. It is a five-day session. We had requested an extension for another five days. The government will decide the duration, but we aim to continue the session to discuss all the problems,” Pandey told ANI. Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a legislative party meeting ahead of the State Assembly Monsoon Session.

Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya also attended the meeting.
