The Uttar Pradesh Police declared a reward on Tuesday for Ayesha Noori, the sister of mafia don Atiq Ahmed, and Zainab Fatima, the wife of his brother Ashraf, both accused in the Umesh Pal murder case that occurred in February 2023 in Prayagraj. The Prayagraj Commissionerate Police set a reward of Rs 25,000 each for their capture.

Additionally, a reward of Rs 50,000 had already been placed on Atiq’s wife, Shaista Parveen. Umesh Pal, a crucial witness to the 2005 murder of the then BSP MLA Raju Pal, was fatally shot on February 24 last year in an attack by one of Atiq’s sons and accomplices in Prayagraj. Pal’s two police guards also lost their lives in the incident.

Gangster Atiq Ahmed was the prime suspect in the murder of Umesh Pal. On April 15, Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed, who had turned to politics, were gunned down by assailants while interacting with the media. Atiq’s son Azad Ahmed was also killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force on April 13. Since then, Shaista has been evading arrest.
