A devastating explosion at a firecracker factory in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday evening, claimed the lives of three people and left five others injured. The blast, which also caused the collapse of four nearby houses, occurred in the factory owned by Nasir Shah, according to local officials.

Casualties and Damage

Bareilly Superintendent of Police Aqmal Khan confirmed that the explosion destroyed adjacent homes, with three individuals pronounced dead and five, including a woman, sustaining injuries. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital, where two people were declared dead on arrival. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, according to Bareilly Chief Medical Officer Vishram Singh.

Factory Details and Official Response

The firecracker factory operated under a licence registered to Nasir Shah, and the explosion occurred at his in-law’s residence. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and urged for swift medical treatment for the injured. He has also directed local authorities to expedite relief efforts at the site of the incident.
