In a tragic accident early Friday morning, Brij Bhushan Dubey, the 52-year-old Special Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, lost his life. The incident occurred near Ayodhya while he was traveling to Lucknow with his son, Krishna Dubey, who was driving the car.
According to police reports, the accident took place around 1:30 a.m. when Krishna attempted to overtake another vehicle. The car lost control, struck a divider, overturned, and veered into the opposite lane, where it collided with an oncoming truck. Local residents quickly alerted authorities, and emergency services arrived to transport Dubey and his son to the hospital. Unfortunately, Dubey succumbed to his injuries, while Krishna sustained minor injuries and was discharged after receiving treatment.
The impact of the crash left the car extensively damaged. Circle Officer Ashish Nagar confirmed that Dubey’s body has been sent for a post-mortem, and the family has been notified. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Brij Bhushan Dubey previously served in the state’s information department before his appointment as Special Secretary in the Vidhan Sabha. In 2021, he was honored with the Atal Ratna Award for his dedication to public service.
