Chandigarh Congress organised a public meeting at Ramdarbar, attended by Pawan Kumar Bansal, former Union Minister, H. S. Lucky, President of Chandigarh Pradesh Congress, and Parveen Narang, District President. The meeting was orchestrated by Sonia, the block President of the party, along with Gurcharan Singh and Barinder Rai, senior leaders.
A large number of residents from Ramdarbar and the 4 No Colony participated in the meeting, where they highlighted their problems and concerns in front of the Congress leaders. Pawan Kumar Bansal mentioned that the Congress party would reconsider the cases of those whose claims were not entertained in the 2006 small flats scheme due to various reasons. Bansal stated that around 24 thousand dwelling units were allotted during the Congress’s time.
H. S. Lucky emphasized that the Congress is the party that cares for the poor, pointing out that all the resettlement colonies in Chandigarh were allotted during the Congress era. Lucky urged the public to vote for the Congress party in the upcoming parliamentary elections to enhance their living conditions. He expressed concern about the hardships faced by the general public under the present regime, citing issues such as price rise and unemployment.
Parveen Narang mentioned that the District Congress Committee is mobilizing people in Chandigarh to vote for the party for a better future. Gurcharan Singh listed various difficulties faced by the residents of Ramdarbar and colonies, including the issue of ceiling imposed by the administration. Congress leaders assured the public that they would take up their concerns with the authorities. Among those present were Sonia, Gurcharan Singh, Barinder Rai, B. N. Tewari, Nitin Kawal, and others.
