This is a repeat of a previous incident at an Apple Store, where masked burglars raided the store and looted items. The protests have also spread to other stores across the retail outlets, including Adidas stores, pharmacies, cannabis dispensaries, and jewellery shops, as per extensive social media video clips shared online.

The protests broke out following the Trump administration initiating a string of immigration raids on Friday, which led to days of civil chaos in the city. Several arrests have been reported in the midst of the mayhem. Los Angeles Police Department Officer Chris Miller verified, “One woman was arrested at the scene of the Apple Store burglary.”
As a reaction to the violence, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass declared emergency. “I have declared a local emergency and issued a curfew for downtown Los Angeles to prevent the vandalism, to prevent the looting,” she said in a press conference. The curfew was to be in effect starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday (local time).
Confronting the looters in direct terms, Bass tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), “Let me be clear: ANYONE who vandalised Downtown or looted stores does not care about our immigrant communities. You will be held accountable.”
During a military parade in Washington to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, President Donald Trump gave a warning of grave consequences against any more demonstrations. “For those people that want to protest, they’re going to be met with very big force,” he said.
