Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez will wed this summer in Venice, Italy, nearly two years after getting engaged last May 2023. Wedding invitations have already been sent to guests, creating buzz over the much-awaited wedding. The two, who first went public about their romance in 2019, got engaged in May 2023, with Sanchez flaunting a beautiful 20-carat diamond ring valued at approximately $2.5 million.
In an earlier interview with Vogue, Sanchez recollected the proposal, how Bezos had hid the ring in a pillow and how she had found it when preparing for bed. “I think I passed out a little bit when he opened the box,” she explained.
When asked if she would bear Jeff’s last name upon marriage, Sanchez nodded eagerly and said, “Uh, yes, one hundred percent,” showing excitement about being called “Mrs. Bezos.” She also discussed how the privilege that comes with it is something she takes seriously.
Regarding her wedding dress, Sanchez listed Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino as some of the designers she would consider, commenting on the numerous great choices there are. Speaking about her upcoming wedding, she opined, “I never thought at 54 – I’m going to be 55 – that I’d be an author, that I’d be getting married. I mean, life is just beginning.”
Bezos previously married MacKenzie Scott from 1993 until 2019, and he has four children with her. Sanchez was also married to Patrick Whitesell from 2005 until 2019, when they divorced.
