At least six people sustained injuries in a suspected terror attack at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado, where demonstrators had gathered in support of Israeli hostages held in Gaza. The FBI identified 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman as the attacker, accusing him of hurling Molotov cocktails at participants of the rally.
Video footage circulating online showed Soliman shirtless, wearing only jeans and sunglasses, wielding a makeshift flamethrower. He was heard yelling, “Free Palestine,” and “End Zionists… they are terrorists.” The FBI confirmed it is treating the incident as a “targeted terror attack” based on initial evidence and witness accounts.
Suspect Detained Without Resistance
According to Boulder Police, Soliman was taken into custody without incident and hospitalized for minor injuries. They refrained from publicly assigning a motive, with Police Chief Steve Redfearn stating, “It would be irresponsible for me to speculate on motive this early on.”
Although formal charges had not yet been announced, officials stated they intend to hold the suspect “fully accountable.”

Political Reactions Spark Online Debate
Right-wing activist and Trump ally Laura Loomer commented on X (formerly Twitter), claiming Soliman should be deported. “’Mohamed Soliman’ is not a ‘Colorado Man’. We need MASS DEPORTATIONS NOW!” she wrote.
Event Targeted a Peaceful Demonstration
The incident occurred during a weekly gathering organized by Run For Their Lives, a volunteer group raising awareness for Israeli hostages in Gaza. The demonstration took place in the heart of downtown Boulder at the popular Pearl Street pedestrian mall.
This attack comes shortly after another violent incident in Washington D.C., where two Israeli embassy staffers were shot dead by a man who reportedly said, “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza.”
FBI and Officials Condemn the Violence
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said in a statement, “This act of terror is being investigated as an act of ideologically motivated violence based on the early information, the evidence, and witness accounts.”
The Justice Department also denounced the assault, calling it a “needless act of violence, which follows recent attacks against Jewish Americans.”
Colorado Governor Condemns Hate-Fueled Acts
Colorado Governor Jared Polis issued a statement saying he was “closely monitoring” the situation. He added, “Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable.”
The attack marks another grim episode of violence in Boulder, following a mass shooting at a grocery store four years ago that left four people dead.
