White House Website Revives Covid Lab Leak Theory, Points Finger at Biden and Fauci

The White House has overhauled its official website to prominently advance the COVID-19 lab-leak theory. A new page debuts that explicitly implicates former President Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci in allegedly covering up the truth about the virus’s origins.

Released on Friday, the new page claims that the SARS-CoV-2 virus had origins in Wuhan, China. The new section, previously used to offer COVID-19 vaccine resources, now opens with an eye-catching banner entitled: “LAB LEAK, The True Origins of COVID-19,” accompanied by an image of President Donald Trump. The page alleges that Dr. Fauci and the Biden administration waged a campaign to cover up the origins of the pandemic.

“The prior administration waged a multi-year battle of delay, confusion and lack of responsiveness to conceal the truth,” the website accuses. In a statement, the White House stated, “This website reveals the real origins of COVID-19 and how Democrats and the media discredited alternative health treatments and the lab-leak theory.”

The page attacks the much-quoted scientific paper The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2 in particular, alleging that Dr. Fauci pushed it to promote the story that the virus arose naturally, not in a laboratory.

Website Lists Five Key Reasons Against Natural Origin

The updated site presents five primary arguments supporting the lab-leak theory:

  1. Unique viral characteristics: The virus has biological traits not seen in nature.

  2. Single point of transmission: All known COVID-19 cases originated from a single human-to-human introduction, differing from earlier pandemics involving multiple spillover events.

  3. Wuhan lab’s research history: The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), located at the outbreak’s epicenter, reportedly conducted gain-of-function experiments under insufficient safety protocols.

  4. WIV researchers’ illness: Several WIV scientists reportedly developed COVID-like symptoms in late 2019—months before the virus was identified at the Wuhan wet market.

  5. Lack of evidence for natural origin: The website claims that scientific evidence for a natural origin should have emerged by now, but hasn’t.

Comes Amid CIA and Media Reports

This is a follow-up to a recent CIA report stating the lab-leak theory becomes more possible. Although the agency once cited incomplete data, its current findings allegedly point toward a lab-sourced origin.

Last week, The New York Times published that the Trump administration was mulling the banning of Chinese AI firm DeepSeek over national security fears. The administration also discussed imposing further limits on the export of U.S. technology to China, including Nvidia chips.

With the debate over COVID-19 origins ongoing, the new White House page highlights an intensified effort on the part of the Trump administration to hold China accountable and break up narratives that have long been the centerpiece of scientific and political discussion.
