White House Warns Illegal Gang Members After Supreme Court Greenlights Deportations

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt delivered a strong message to gang members living illegally in the United States on Tuesday. This came after the US Supreme Court cleared the way for the Trump administration to use the Alien Enemies Act (AEA) to deport them.

Court Decision Boosts Trump Administration

During a press briefing, Leavitt called the decision a major victory. She stated, “Last night, the Supreme Court delivered a massive legal victory to the Trump administration and allowed us to continue removing foreign terrorist invaders under the Alien Enemies Act. This was a smackdown to a rogue, left-wing, low-level district court judge.”

Moreover, she specifically warned violent gangs like Tren-de-Aragua and MS-13. She added a direct threat to any foreign terrorists still in the country: “Deport yourself now or you’ll be locked up.”

Supreme Court Overrules Lower Court Block

Earlier, a lower court had stopped the administration from deporting Venezuelans under the AEA. However, the Supreme Court overturned that decision. As a result, the Trump administration can now resume deportations under this wartime law.

According to The Hill, the Court did not decide whether the AEA was used correctly to remove suspected gang members. Instead, it focused on where those facing deportation can legally challenge the decision.

Court Clarifies Legal Process

Furthermore, the justices ruled that individuals must file lawsuits in Texas, where they are detained. In addition, the Court stressed that Venezuelans facing deportation must receive proper notice. This gives them a fair chance to request habeas relief before removal.

White House Responds to Storm Damage

Meanwhile, Leavitt also spoke about the recent severe storms across the U.S. She said, “The President’s thoughts also remain with the families and communities experiencing devastating loss from the severe storms and flooding affecting several states.”

She further noted that President Trump approved emergency declarations for Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. These steps aim to help state and local officials recover from the ongoing damage.
