White House Condemns Selena Gomez for Shedding Tears over Deportation

The White House strongly criticized singer and actress Selena Gomez concerning her emotional appeal about the deportation of undocumented immigrants. In a new video released by the White House, there are wailing mothers who lost their children to crimes allegedly committed by undocumented individuals. The mothers accused Gomez of being out of touch with their pain in her fight for immigration rights.

White House Shares Video Featuring Grieving Mothers

On Friday, the White House published a video captioned “Moms of Victims of Illegal Aliens SLAM Selena Gomez: You Didn’t Cry for Our Daughters.”

The three mothers watch Gomez’s now-deleted Instagram video, in which she is crying over deportation policies. Then, they condemn the pop star for focusing all her attention solely on undocumented immigrants rather than respecting what happened to their daughters.

Tammy Nobles, the mother of Kayla Hamilton, expressed her anger, stating, “You don’t know who you’re crying for. What about our children who were brutally murdered, raped, and beaten to death by illegal immigrants? No one cried for our daughters.”

Similarly, Patty Morin, whose daughter Rachel Morin was reportedly murdered by an illegal immigrant, criticized Gomez for “trying to deceive people and garner sympathy for lawlessness.” Another grieving mother, Alexis Nungaray, whose daughter Jocelyn Nungaray was also a victim, questioned the sincerity of Gomez’s video. “Seeing that video, it’s hard to believe it’s genuine because she’s an actress.”

Gomez’s Deleted Video Sparks Outrage

She had first posted her tearful message on Instagram, where she was condemning U.S. immigration policies that led to the swift deportation of undocumented individuals. In the clip, she tearfully said, “All my people are getting attacked—the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t.”

She eventually removed the video, but only after facing criticism from social media and political personalities.

Selena replied to the critics with a post, “Apparently, it’s not okay to show empathy for people.” She eventually took down the post. But the video still spread like wildfire online.

It further ignited debates over immigration policies and celebrity activism.

History of Selena Gomez in Immigration Advocacy

A Mexican American, Gomez has been one of the loudest advocates for immigrant rights. She earlier produced the documentary Living Undocumented. It details the struggles of eight immigrant families in navigating the U.S. immigration system.

She hasn’t commented on the White House’s latest video directly, but her advocacy efforts remain at the center of controversy, leading to public discourse.

On a personal note, Gomez, whose net worth is estimated at over $1 billion, recently announced her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco. The couple is set to tie the knot soon.
