As soon as India deployed Operation Sindoor against terror sites in Pakistan, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio showed his concerns, mentioning that he was “closely monitoring the situation between Pakistan and India” and hoped “the situation will wind down soon.”
During a missile strike conducted by Indian troops on Wednesday morning against nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, such as Bahawalpur, the well-known outpost of banned terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Rubio expressed his opinion in an X post: “I am monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan closely. I echo @POTUS‘s comments earlier today that this hopefully ends quickly and will continue to engage both Indian and Pakistani leadership towards a peaceful resolution.”

Ajit Doval Briefs Rubio
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval talked with Rubio ‘briefly after the strikes’ and briefed him about the actions initiated, said an Indian Embassy representative in Washington DC.
The press release highlighted the embassy’s careful observation: “India’s actions have been focused and targeted. They were calibrated, responsible, and meant to be non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani civilian, economic, or military targets have been struck. Only identified terror camps were hit.”
The statement also explained why the strikes had taken place, “Terrorists massacred 26 civilians in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir on April 22 in a gory and nefarious attack. India has credible information, technical inputs, survivor testimonies, and other evidence placing Pakistan-based terrorists for this attack.”
It added that Pakistan also remained inactive, “It was anticipated that Pakistan would act against terrorists and their facilitatory infrastructure. Pakistan has instead disavowed any role and leveled unsubstantiated charges of a false flag operation against India.”
