Donald Trump Declares War on Foreign Films with 100% Import Tax

U.S. President Donald Trump said he had given permission to the Department of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) to begin the process of applying a 100% tariff on all movies made outside the United States.

Trump used his Truth Social platform to announce this decision. He claimed that other countries were actively pulling American filmmakers and studios away by offering them various benefits.

He wrote, “The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death. Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood and many other areas within the USA are being devastated. This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat. It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda!”

Because of this concern, Trump said he wanted to make sure films are produced within the country. He officially authorised a new trade move to achieve that.

“Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands. WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!” he added.

Trump Orders Alcatraz Prison to Reopen

Alongside his announcement on the film industry, Trump also revealed a bold plan for the U.S. prison system. He said he had ordered the Bureau of Prisons to rebuild and reopen Alcatraz, the once-feared prison located in San Francisco Bay.

He posted, “REBUILD, AND OPEN ALCATRAZ! When we were a more serious Nation, in times past, we did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals, and keep them far away from anyone they could harm.”

Alcatraz used to house some of the country’s most well-known criminals, like Al Capone, until it shut down in 1963. Today, it functions as a famous tourist attraction in San Francisco.

Trump declared his intention to bring back Alcatraz as a high-security facility for America’s most violent criminals. He stated, “Today, I am directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ.”

In short, Donald Trump wants to bring movie production back to the U.S. by placing high taxes on imported films. At the same time, he’s pushing to restore Alcatraz as a stronghold for serious offenders, saying it’s necessary for national safety and law enforcement.
