Trump Slams Musk for Criticising GOP Budget, Says Ties Are Over

US President Donald Trump has ended his relationship with Elon Musk and warned him of serious consequences if he supports the Democrats. In an interview, set to air on Sunday, Trump confirmed that his ties with Musk are over. This fallout came after Musk openly criticised the Republican Party’s budget proposal, officially called ‘The Big Beautiful Bill Act’. Musk had described the bill as an “abomination,” which appeared to trigger Trump’s reaction.

As a result, Trump issued a direct warning to the Tesla CEO. “If he does, he’ll have to face the consequences,” he told NBC. “He’ll have to face very serious consequences if he does that,” he repeated.

Trump Reminds of Musk’s Past Support

Trump also pointed out that Musk donated nearly $300 million to support his re-election campaign last year. He used this point to caution Musk against switching sides and backing the Democrats.

No Intention to Rebuild Relationship

When asked if he wanted to mend ties with Musk, Trump clearly said, “No.” He also confirmed that their relationship had ended. “I would assume so, yeah,” he said, when asked if it was over. He added that he had no plans to talk to Musk again.
“I’m too busy doing other things… I have no intention of speaking to him,” Trump said.

Fallout Has Strengthened the Party, Says Trump

Despite the rift, Trump claimed the dispute had actually brought the Republican Party closer together. “The party has never been this united before — even more than it was just three days ago,” he said.

In summary, Trump made it clear that he has cut ties with Musk and issued a strong warning about any possible shift in political loyalty.
