Washington, D.C. — Donald Trump has once again rallied Republican lawmakers to unite behind a major economic bill, calling it the “one big, beautiful bill” that he believes will help the United States soar like never before.
In a series of posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump emphasized the urgency of passing a tax cut and tariff reform bill that aligns with his campaign promises.
“Republicans, it is more important now than ever that we pass THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL. The USA will soar like never before!” Trump wrote.
A Push for Tax Cuts and Trade Reform
In a follow-up post, Trump declared it “imperative” for House Republicans to pass the tax cut bill, promising that it would lead to a booming economy.
“It is IMPERATIVE that Republicans in the House pass the Tax Cut Bill, NOW! Our Country Will Boom!” he added.
Trump also highlighted a comment by JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, who supported reforming trade and tariffs.
“Fixing Trade and Tariffs is a good thing!” Trump quoted Dimon saying.
Trump: “Be Cool, Everything Will Work Out”
In a reassuring message to the American public, Trump urged people to stay calm and positive.
“BE COOL! Everything is going to work out well. The USA will be bigger and better than ever before!” he posted.
Tensions in the House Over Budget Bill
Trump’s call comes amid disagreements among Republican lawmakers. At least 10 GOP representatives have publicly opposed the Senate-passed budget resolution, which they claim doesn’t go far enough in spending cuts. While the House seeks $1.5 trillion in reductions, the Senate bill proposes only $4 billion.
Despite internal conflict, Trump pressed Republicans to move forward.
“Close your eyes and get there!” he urged during the National Republican Congressional Committee’s annual dinner, adding, “Stop grandstanding. It is a phenomenal bill.”
Trump vs. Congress on Negotiation Skills
Taking a swipe at congressional negotiators, Trump boasted about his tariff strategy and deal-making skills, particularly with countries like China.
“I’m telling you—these countries are calling us up, kissing my a. They are dying to make a deal… ‘Please sir, make a deal, I’ll do anything.’**” Trump said, emphasizing that other nations are under pressure due to the newly announced US tariff policies.
House Speaker Backs the Bill
House Speaker Mike Johnson called the bill “one of the most consequential pieces of legislation in decades” and claimed it is crucial for enacting Trump’s economic plans, including the extension of 2017 tax cuts and elimination of taxes on tipped wages.
He noted the GOP’s narrow majority gives them just enough wiggle room to pass the bill and joked, “It’s an embarrassment of riches. This job is so easy.”
