During the White House’s Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day celebration, President Donald Trump love for sweets became the topic of conversation. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt disclosed that the President eats a “good amount” of candy every day during a playful press briefing for reporters’ kids. Tootsie Rolls and Pink Starbursts are two of his favorites.

The occasion, which was crowded with inquiries from inquisitive children, provided unique firsthand knowledge of the president’s interests and way of life. It also showcased lighter moments within the typically somber White House corridors and included events with First Lady Melania Trump.
Kids’ Questions Reveal Tasty Presidential Habits
A chile asked Karoline Leavitt how much candy does the President consumes. Donald Trump eats a “good amount,” Leavitt remarked with a laugh. He particularly enjoys pink Tootsie Rolls and Starbursts, she added. Everyone in the room nodded and smiled at this remark.
Candy isn’t the only indulgence, though. According to Leavitt, Trump also likes “a big, beautiful steak,” chocolate-topped ice cream sundaes, and traditional fast food, especially McDonald’s hamburgers and fries.
Laughter, Curiosity, and Questions
Not all of the questions were simple. Karoline Leavitt paused when asked about Trump’s favorite child or soccer player. “That is a very controversial question and I’m not going to answer it,” she said with a smile in response to the latter. “He loves all of his children very much, and they’re all great kids,” she added tactfully.
The question is both personal and political because Trump has five adult children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron.
Melania Joins the Fun with Crafts and Compliments
Melania Trump, the first lady, took part in the events of the day as well. She assisted the children of Executive Office employees in decorating wooden American flags while they sat in the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden. She adorned her red, white, and blue flag with silver glittery stars and commended the kids’ artwork, describing it as “beautiful.”
President Makes Brief Appearance with Kids
President Trump had a full schedule that day. To get House Republicans to support his tax and spending bill, he traveled to Capitol Hill. A brief video later appeared online, despite the White House canceling official press coverage of his scheduled appearance with kids on the South Lawn.
In the video, President Trump was spotted having fun while dancing in front of kids at the Executive Mansion’s south entrance.
