Trump, Harris Wish Biden a Speedy Recovery After Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

U.S. President Donald Trump shared his concern on Sunday over Joe Biden’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis. In a post on Truth Social, Trump extended warm wishes to Biden and his family, despite their history of political rivalry.

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” Trump wrote.

Biden Diagnosed with Aggressive Prostate Cancer

Biden’s office confirmed that the 82-year-old former president has been diagnosed with a severe form of prostate cancer, which has already spread to his bones. His family is currently exploring treatment options.

According to the official statement, the diagnosis came after Biden reported worsening urinary symptoms. Medical examinations revealed a prostate nodule, and further tests confirmed a high-grade cancer.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone. While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” the statement said.

Rare Bipartisan Support

Trump, who returned to the White House after defeating Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, has often criticized Biden publicly, frequently using the nickname “Sleepy Joe.” However, his message of support stood out as a rare example of unity during a challenging time for Biden.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris also responded with words of encouragement. In a post on X, she and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, expressed sympathy for Biden and his family.

“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time,” Harris said.

She praised Biden’s strength and positive spirit, adding, “Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”

As Biden begins considering treatment options, messages of support have poured in from across the political spectrum, reflecting the gravity of his health condition and the respect he commands from many current and former leaders.
