The Trump Organisation has launched a new set of merchandise, adding fuel to ongoing speculation about Donald Trump’s political future. As the U.S. continues to navigate Trump’s controversial presidency, his team has started selling red caps online with a bold new slogan, “Trump 2028.”
New slogan stirs attention
Previously, Trump’s campaign store featured slogans like “Make America Great Again.” But now, the hats boldly display “Trump 2028” in bright white letters on the front. The organisation also listed T-shirts with the same message.
According to the official website, the red hats cost $50. The product description reads, “The future looks bright! Rewrite the rules with the Trump 2028 high crown hat. Fully embroidered with a snap closure in the back, this will become your new go-to hat.”
Meanwhile, the T-shirts, priced at $36, also include the phrase “Rewrite the Rules.”
White House avoids direct comment
When reporters reached out for a comment, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt redirected them. She said, “You’ll have to ask the Trump Organisation since it’s their website.” Still, she added, “But it’s a cool hat and I suspect it will be highly popular!”
Eric Trump shows off the hat
Although the Trump Organisation itself didn’t issue a public statement, Eric Trump promoted the merchandise on social media. He posted a photo of himself wearing the “Trump 2028” hat. Alongside it, he shared screenshots of emails from journalists asking about the controversial gear.

Talk of a third term resurfaces
This merchandise comes amid renewed talk of Trump potentially seeking a third presidential term. The U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment clearly states that a person can serve only two terms as president.
Still, Trump and his supporters have repeatedly teased the idea of extending his presidency.
In a recent phone interview with NBC News, Trump responded to a question about a third term by saying, “A lot of people want me to do it.”
He continued, “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”
However, he did not dismiss the idea outright. In fact, he said during the call, “I’m not joking. But I’m not — it is far too early to think about it.”
Hints at legal workaround
When NBC pressed further, asking if any advisers had suggested legal ways to get around the two-term limit, Trump replied, “There are methods which you could do it.”
