Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that his tenure as a top adviser to President Donald Trump has officially ended. Musk had been serving as a Special Government Employee leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aimed to eliminate red tape and streamline federal bureaucracy.
The billionaire entrepreneur shared the update on X, the platform he owns.
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk wrote.

The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.

He added, “The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
While Musk did not elaborate on his future political involvement, his message suggests continued support for DOGE’s long-term goals.
This is a developing story.
