Evacuations Underway in Murphy Canyon
The San Diego Police Department confirmed the evacuation of three streets in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood. Authorities also urged residents to stay cautious and report any debris or strong jet fuel smells.
“We have jet fuel all over the place,” said Assistant Fire Department Chief Dan Eddy at a press briefing. “Our main goal is to search all these homes and get everybody out right now.” He emphasized that the crash was a “direct hit to multiple homes.”
Cars Burnt, Homes Damaged
Footage from the scene broadcast by local media showed several vehicles reduced to burned-out shells and at least one house with extensive structural damage.
