Shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School Sparks Emergency Lockdown, Police Launch Investigation

At least four people were hospitalized after a shooting occurred at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon, according to officials. The incident took place around 1 p.m. at the school situated in the 5500 block of Langdon Road.

Emergency Response and Evacuation

Dallas police and emergency responders were quick to the scene. The Dallas Fire Department confirmed four people were hurt, at least two of whom had gunshot wounds. School safety protocols were activated by authorities, who evacuated students and asked families to stay away from the campus.

School District Assures Safety

At 2:12 p.m., the Dallas Independent School District made a statement on social media, affirming that the school was secured and that reunification plans for students were in the process.
“Families: Wilmer-Hutchins High School is secured. Reunification plans will be announced soon. Be ready to come with your photo ID. We need everyone’s assistance to avoid coming to campus,” the statement said.
