Prince Harry has again caused eyebrows to be raised with what a royal correspondent said was another subtle accusation against the royal family, after his recent court battle over personal security arrangements.

The Duke of Sussex, who recently appealed to the UK Home Office in a two-day hearing, alleged that the officials hinted at an ‘intentional attempt’ to keep him and Meghan Markle as active members of the royal family. Harry claimed that he has been ‘singled out’ for ‘unjustified and inferior treatment’.

Speaking to The Telegraph after the court hearing, he told, “I was tired and bogged down,” adding his “worst fears have been confirmed by the entire legal disclosure in this case.”

Harry feels that the removal of his security was a deliberate action that sought to put pressure on him and Meghan to come back to the UK and take up their royal duties. He also alleged that the tactic was designed to make trips to Britain ‘more difficult and potentially unsafe’ for his family.

Criticism of Harry’s Claims

Royal analyst Duncan Larcombe responded to the Duke’s claims, terming them as ‘bizarre’. In an interview with GB News, Larcombe said, “It seems to be this ongoing dialect from Harry if things don’t go his way, he plays the victim.” He went on to say that such reports are damaging his reputation. “When this occurs, he becomes less and less popular with the British public who used to love him.”

Pointing out a contradiction, Larcombe said, “Harry is scared of his own security so he travels to a war zone. That is bit ironic, isn’t it?”

Prince Harry Loses Security Case

Harry insists that his father, King Charles, can intervene on the matter. The reason being that Sir Clive Alderton, who is the King’s private secretary, is a member of the Royal and VIP Executive Committee.

However, officials at the palace have ruled out any royal intervention. A source indicated, “These are matters of government policy and security and, as is the usual position, it would be inappropriate to comment or act on either.”

It’s notable that in February 2024, Harry “comprehensively lost” his court case against the Home Office. Then, Mr Justice Lane ruled that stripping him of his security was not procedurally unfair.
