Operation Sindoor: Trump offers to ‘help’ as India-Pak tensions escalate

US President Donald Trump has spoken out about the rising tensions between India and Pakistan following India’s high-precision military offensive, Operation Sindoor. He expressed concern over the ongoing attacks and said he would be willing to help both nations if needed.

“I want to see them stop,” says Trump

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said, “It’s so terrible. My position is that I get along with both. I know both very well, and I want to see them work it out… And if I can do anything to help, I will be there.”

The remarks came just a day after India launched strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people on April 22.

Trump calls for end to hostilities

When asked if he had any message for India and Pakistan, Trump said, “I just hope it ends very quickly.” He acknowledged the long history of tensions between the two nations, saying, “They’ve been fighting for many decades, and centuries, actually, if you really think about it.”

Pakistan reports casualties, vows retaliation

The Pakistan Army claimed that 31 people were killed and 57 others injured in the missile strikes. Spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry also confirmed cross-border firing on the Line of Control (LoC) following the Indian operation.

Pakistan has labelled the Indian strikes as “unprovoked” and promised to retaliate at a “time and place of its choosing.”
