US President Donald Trump has fulfilled his promise to release classified documents related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy. The National Archives announced that the records, previously withheld for classification, are now accessible to the public.
Where to Download JFK Files
As per the National Archives’ statement on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the files can be accessed:
- Online: Visit archives.gov/jfk.
- In Person: The documents are available in hard copy or analog media formats at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland.
Tulsi Gabbard’s Statement on the Release
Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, released a statement emphasizing Trump’s commitment to transparency. She highlighted that Trump’s Executive Order 14176 mandates the unredacted release of records pertaining to JFK’s assassination.
Gabbard further stated that her office has instructed the Intelligence Community to ensure the unredacted files are available to the public immediately. Updates on the release process will be provided through her official accounts on X (@DNIGabbard) and Truth Social (@DNITulsiGabbard).
Future Availability of Files
Currently, some records are available for in-person viewing only. However, these files are being digitized and will soon be uploaded to the archives.gov/jfk repository.
