Upon arrival at the Palam Technical Airport, JD Vance was received by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. A ceremonial tri-services guard of honour greeted the US Vice President as he stepped onto Indian soil for his official visit.
Family in Traditional Attire Wins Hearts
JD Vance’s wife Usha and their three children—Ewan, Blake (also referred to as Vivek), and Mirabel—were also present, instantly drawing attention for their attire. The two boys wore colourful kurtas, while little Mirabel, just three years old, was dressed in a traditional suit. Ewan, the eldest, walked down the stairs in a blue kurta and hugged his father. He was followed by Blake, in a yellow kurta. Mirabel was assisted by a staff member as she descended the steps before Mr Vance picked her up.
The heartwarming family moment on the tarmac set a welcoming tone for the visit, with Minister Vaishnaw greeting each member personally.
Dinner With PM Modi, Delegation Talks
The Vance family will attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following bilateral discussions. Mr Vance is joined by a five-member US delegation, including officials from the Pentagon and the State Department.
Jaipur and Agra on the Itinerary
On Tuesday, the US Vice President will tour the historic Amer Palace in Jaipur. Later, he will deliver the keynote address at the US-India Business Summit at the Rajasthan International Centre, where he’s expected to highlight trade and investment collaboration between both nations.
