Lebanese militant group Hezbollah issued a stern warning to Israeli settlers on Friday, urging them to stay away from Israeli army installations located within residential areas in northern Israel. The group accused the Israeli army of using civilian homes for military purposes, heightening tensions in the region.
In a statement released in both Arabic and Hebrew, Hezbollah claimed that the Israeli army has placed military bases within residential neighborhoods in major cities such as Haifa, Tiberias, and Acre. According to Hezbollah, these military sites pose a danger to the surrounding civilian population.
Hezbollah’s warning specifically targeted Israeli settlers, urging them to distance themselves from military sites to ensure their safety. The statement emphasized that the presence of these military facilities in civilian areas puts the lives of settlers at risk.
“We warn the settlers from being near these military gatherings in order to preserve their lives,” Hezbollah said in their statement.
This warning comes amid growing hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, as both sides have exchanged threats in recent weeks. The situation remains volatile, with the potential for further escalation as accusations of military use of civilian spaces heighten concerns.
Israeli officials have yet to respond to Hezbollah’s latest allegations. However, tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have long been a source of instability in the region.
