Prominent figures, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, took to X (formerly Twitter) to extend their heartfelt greetings.

UK Prime Minister’s Warm Wishes

Keir Starmer shared his thoughts, saying, “Happy Diwali to all those celebrating across the UK! I wish you and your family a joyful celebration. This is a time of coming together, abundance and welcome, and a moment to fix our eyes on the light which always triumphs over the darkness.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also expressed his heartfelt wishes in Hindi, stating, “Warm wishes to all those celebrating Deepawali in the UAE and around the world. May this festival of lights bring happiness and peace to you and your loved ones and keep them safe forever. May the light in your hearts guide you on the path of harmony, compassion, and unity. Happy Deepawali!”

Australian Prime Minister’s Official Statement

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese joined in the celebration, posting, “Wishing a happy Festival of Lights to all those celebrating over the coming days,” along with an official statement.

Greetings from Israel’s Leaders

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz reached out to his Indian counterpart, Dr. S. Jaishankar, wishing, “My friend @DrSJaishankar, I wish you and the people of India a #HappyDiwali2024! Israel and India share the values of democracy, freedom, and a vision for a brighter future. May this Festival of Light bring us all joy, prosperity, and peace.”

Following this, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent his Diwali greetings to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “I wish my dear friend Prime Minister of India @narendramodi and all the people of India a happy Diwali! The friendship between our two nations is deep and shall continue to flourish.”
