Cocaine-Laced Pizzas: German Police Uncover Pizzeria Linked To Drug Ring Uncovered

Authorities in western Germany recently raided a pizzeria suspected of selling cocaine to customers who ordered a specific menu item. The investigation began in March when food inspectors alerted law enforcement, prompting months of surveillance that culminated in the arrest of the pizzeria’s manager at his residence.

During the raid, police discovered a significant stash of drugs, including 1.6 kilograms of cocaine and 400 grams of cannabis, along with €268,000 in cash, according to the BBC. Although the manager was initially released, he resumed operating the pizzeria and continued selling drug-laced pizzas, leading to a more extensive investigation into the drug operation.

In a coordinated effort, around 150 police officers conducted multiple raids, targeting various locations associated with the drug ring. Among the findings were two cannabis plantations: one in Mönchengladbach with 300 plants and another in Solingen with 60 plants. Several homes linked to suspected dealers were also raided, resulting in multiple arrests, including a 22-year-old believed to be the ringleader.

The operation also yielded weapons, cash, and luxury watches. The pizzeria manager was apprehended again while attempting to flee the country and is currently in custody. Authorities revealed that a pizza item listed as “number 40” was particularly sought after, but they have not disclosed the identities of other individuals involved or the price of the drug-laced pizza. It remains unclear how much customers paid for this special order.
