US President Donald Trump has issued a new executive order launching a self-deportation program called “Project Homecoming.” The proposal provides undocumented immigrants with free airfare and cash incentives to voluntarily depart from the United States.

In an online-shared video, Trump stated that the program would “save American taxpayers billions and billions of dollars by not having to go through the costly deportation process.” He posted on X, previously Twitter, “Today, I signed an Executive Order to initiate the first-ever self-deportation program. Illegal aliens who remain in America are punished, including-sudden deportation, in a location and manner of our choice only. TO ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS: BOOK YOUR FREE FLIGHT RIGHT NOW!”

Migrants Handed Tickets

Trump explained the mechanisms of the plan in a 90-second video, saying that illegal migrants can escape legal action by simply choosing to leave.

“Any illegal alien can just present themselves at an airport and take a free trip out of our nation. We have also implemented a phone application known as CBP Home. That’s C-B-P-H-O-M-E, where illegals can schedule a free flight to any other country. So long as it’s not here, you can go anywhere you wish,” he added.

The CBP Home app has been launched to make the process of booking simpler, with a view to easing departures while minimizing the role of legal enforcement.

Exit Bonus Introduced to Motivate Departures

As a part of the self-deportation program, the US government is providing a cash incentive for voluntary participation. The Department of Homeland Security recently introduced a $1,000 stipend per migrant who would voluntarily depart.

The agency indicated the approach is much less costly than historical deportation practices, costing about $17,000 per person. Trump highlighted taxpayer long-term savings.

“The deportation bonus will save American taxpayers billions and billions of dollars. Eventually, when the illegals are gone, it will save us trillions of dollars,” the President stated.

Trump Issues Stern Warning to Migrants Who Remain

While offering incentives to leave, Trump also delivered a harsh warning to those who ignore the program. He said migrants who refuse to depart could face severe penalties.

“Illegal aliens who stay in America face punishments, including significant jail time, enormous financial penalties, confiscation of all property, garnishment of all wages, imprisonment and incarceration, and sudden deportation. In a place and manner solely of our discretion,” Trump declared.

He also suggested an avenue for return, stating, “We want you out of America, but if you’re really good, we’re going to try and help you get back in. Thank you.”

Immigration Crackdown Intensifies Under Trump’s Leadership

Ever since his return to office in January, President Trump has given highest priority to taking a hardline stance on immigration. His administration has made broad sweeps of arrests, fought against judicial decisions pertaining to immigration, and taken steps to close various avenues of legal immigration.

“Project Homecoming” is the latest initiative of Trump’s administration to transform America’s immigration regime by balancing voluntary compliance with aggressive deterrents.
