The organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics unveiled its revised venue plan on Tuesday, highlighting the return of baseball at Dodger Stadium, with surfing and cricket taking place at prominent locations outside the city.
“We’ve promised the world an incredible Olympic Games and today we’re proud to share the plan that will make it happen,” said LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover in an official statement.

Surfing events will be held at Trestles Beach, a world-renowned surf spot located between northern San Diego County and southern San Clemente in Orange County. The beach, which once hosted World Surfing League competitions, draws approximately 2.5 million visitors annually and sits about an hour south of downtown LA.

Beach Volleyball Moves to Long Beach
After negotiations fell through with Santa Monica, beach volleyball has been relocated to Long Beach. The area will also host target shooting at a temporary indoor range, sport climbing in a parking lot, and newly introduced events like coastal rowing and marathon swimming.
Venice Beach to Host Triathlon, Marathon, and Cycling Starts
The triathlon will move from Long Beach to the iconic Venice Beach, which will also serve as the starting point for the marathon and road cycling events. Details about course routes and finishing locations are expected to be revealed later.
Boxing, Weightlifting, and Gymnastics in Downtown LA
Boxing returns to the Olympic program with early rounds scheduled at the Peacock Theater, while final bouts will take place at the Crypto.com Arena, which will also host artistic gymnastics and trampoline events. Weightlifting will remain at the Peacock Theater.
