Volodymyr Zelenskyy Condemns Russia’s Ongoing Strikes, Calls for Strength on St. Nicholas Day

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again criticized Russia for its persistent attacks on Ukrainian cities. He highlighted the devastation caused by recent strikes and urged the world to focus on the need for strength to counter Russian aggression.

Devastating Attacks on St. Nicholas Day

Zelenskyy detailed the tragic events of St. Nicholas Day in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Russia’s words mean nothing, but their bombs and missiles speak volumes.”

  • In Zaporizhzhia, Russian aerial bombs hit a service station. Cars with people inside were destroyed, killing nine and injuring four.
  • In Kryvyi Rih, a missile struck a residential building, leaving two dead and 17 injured.

These attacks represent just a fraction of the strikes Russia launched on a single day, according to Zelenskyy.

Putin Does Not Seek Peace

Zelenskyy condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of rejecting peace. He stated, “Thousands of such strikes Russia has carried out during this war make it absolutely clear: Putin does not seek real peace—he seeks the ability to treat any country this way, with bombs, missiles, and all other forms of violence.”

He stressed that only strength can stop such aggression. Zelenskyy also thanked global supporters for standing with Ukraine. He paid tribute to the victims, saying, “May the memory of all the victims of Russian terror be eternal.”

Acknowledging Defense Support

The Ukrainian President also highlighted the importance of new defense technologies. He expressed gratitude for the “Peklo” (Hell) drone missile, delivered to Ukrainian forces.

In another post, he wrote, “The ‘Peklo’ (Hell) drone-missile—our Ukrainian weapon with proven combat effectiveness. Today, the first batch was delivered to our Defense Forces. The mission now is to scale up production and deployment.”

He thanked everyone involved in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, emphasizing their critical role in the nation’s resistance.

Standing Strong Against Aggression

Zelenskyy’s statements underscored Ukraine’s determination to withstand Russian attacks. By combining internal resilience and international support, the country continues to fight for peace and justice.
