A London press conference became a scene of utter chaos after two Pakistani reporters, Safina Khan and Asad Ali Malik, engaged in an angry altercation which was caught on camera. The clip, now viral, has the two yelling insults at one another while bystanders tried to calm down the situation.

The exchange occurred during a media engagement organized by Salman Akram Raja, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General and a personal friend of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Safina subsequently posted the video on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, claiming that she was surrounded at the event by ARY News correspondent Fareed Qureshi and Hum News reporter Rafeeq. She accused them of cutting her short when she was asking questions and faulted them for provoking the situation. “I heard somebody’s mother abused, not for me. There was no honour among these shameless men. When I could not stand Azhar Javed’s mother being abused, how could I have kept quiet after hearing abuse on my mother?” she wrote in Urdu.

She also alleged that if anything happened to her, the two journalists would be responsible.

Asad Ali Malik, who is affiliated with a UK-based media organization, rejected all the allegations. In his statement on X, he stated, “These are false and baseless allegations, consistent with her pattern of past behaviour. The facts are clear and supported by multiple eyewitnesses.”

Safina also claimed that PTI supporters had been harassing her and even tried to carry out an acid attack. “An acid attack was even conducted, but I was not scared then and will not be scared now. If a man stands up and abuses me or my mother, I will abuse him twice as much as the women in his house,” she asserted in another post.

She also accused ARY News reporter Farid Qureshi of manipulating and posting the scuffle video via a fake account named “Pakistani,” accusing it of portraying the incident unjustly in another tweet.
