Amazon Contributes $1 Million To Trump’s Inaugural Fund, Prime Video To Air The Ceremony

Amazon’s founder and executive chairman, Jeff Bezos, is expected to meet with President-elect Trump next week. This meeting follows a history of public tensions between Bezos and Trump, particularly regarding the Washington Post’s critical coverage of Trump’s administration. The Post, owned by Bezos, notably did not endorse a candidate in the 2020 presidential election, a decision that blocked any endorsement of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, a stance that sparked further tension.
In response to the lack of endorsement, Bezos defended the decision in an opinion piece for the Post, emphasising the need for media outlets to build credibility by remaining impartial in elections, especially given public perceptions of media bias.
