Since 1974, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has supported Bahrain’s economic and social progress, underscoring the strong bond between the two nations. This collaboration has resulted in 33 development projects worth AED 23 billion, promoting infrastructure growth and sustainable development.
ADFD’s investments span critical areas, enhancing the quality of life for Bahrain’s citizens:
Salman City Housing Project: Affordable homes for numerous families, addressing a pressing housing demand.
East Sitra Development Project: Expanded Bahrain’s land area for new residential and commercial zones.
Sheikh Zayed Road Expansion: Improved connectivity, reduced congestion, and boosted economic activities.
Strengthened healthcare facilities, contributing to a healthier society.
These projects not only fulfill Bahrain’s fiscal balance needs for 2023–2024 but also foster economic growth by developing infrastructure and creating employment opportunities.
On Bahrain’s National Day (December 16), Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, ADFD Director General, lauded the collaboration:
“ADFD’s support has enabled Bahrain to achieve remarkable results across housing, healthcare, and transport. Together, we’ve improved citizens’ lives and demonstrated how shared resources can drive transformative growth.”
The ADFD-Bahrain partnership serves as a benchmark for regional collaboration, proving that joint efforts can yield significant strides in sustainable development.
