Opposition Vice Presidential candidate Margaret Alva has claimed that all her phone calls have been diverted and she is unable to call anyone. After which Margaret Alva complained about the shutdown of her phone service.

Taking a jibe, Alva has told BSNL-MTNL that if her call is started, she will not call any MP from the BJP, TMC, or BJD. After this, in her tweet, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that these are childish allegations.

Margaret Alva wrote in her tweet, “Dear BSNL/MTNL, today after talking to some BJP friends all my phone calls are getting diverted and I am not able to make or receive calls. If you correct the phone, I promise not to call any MP from BJP, TMC, and BJD tonight.”

“The fear that ‘Big Brother is always watching & listening permeates all conversations between politicians across party lines in ‘new’ India. MPs & leaders of parties carry multiple phones, frequently change numbers & talk in hushed whispers when they meet. Fear kills democracy,” she further added.

Taking to Twitter Union Minister Prahlad Joshi responded to Margaret Alva’s tweet and said “Why should anybody tap her phone? We’re confident about what the result of the VP election will be. Why should we do this? These are childish allegations. She’s a senior person & at least she should not make such allegations.”

Moreover, the Vice President election will be held on August 6, 2022.
