Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the railway overbridge ‘Ram Setu’ in Barotra through a video conference on Sunday. This overbridge, built for Rs 102 crores on National Highway-112 in the Jodhpur-Barmen railway section, is two kilometres long with two lanes.
In this ceremony, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma participated from the Chief Minister’s residence. Addressing the gathering, he said that the state’s development will gain momentum from the construction of the bridge.
In Barotra, traffic congestion and potential accidents with heavy vehicles passing through the level crossing will be avoided. The path to reach the railway station for the general public will be easier, saving time.
The Chief Minister stated that the construction of the bridge will facilitate the arrival of devotees to religious places such as Jasol Dham, Nakoda, and Brahm Dham.
He mentioned, “Along with this aerial work, two underpasses have also been prepared. This will make city traffic smoother. The condition of local industries will strengthen, leading to increased employment opportunities in the region.” He said that the state government will release various approvals to strengthen the road network. Additionally, every possible cooperation will be provided in the implementation of various projects. The Chief Minister said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways has given gifts to the state, including the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway and the Jamnagar-Amritsar Expressway, along with ring roads, bridges, and aerial gifts. The Minister of Road Transport and Highways has changed the image of the state’s roads with his progressive thinking and innovations, making the road system in Rajasthan strong.” In the ceremony, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary said, “Now the state is witnessing all-round development. The strengthening of roads will make the state’s economy stronger.”
Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Diya Kumari, associated with the construction of roads, expressways, and aerobridges, said, “The villages and towns are now connected through various roads, including aerobridges, highways, and expressways. This will make it easier for farmers, businessmen, tourists, and devotees to travel. New dimensions of development are now being established in Rajasthan.”
