Union Minister and BJP Candidate for Udhampur, Doda, Kathua Lok Sabha constituency, Dr. Jitendra Singh, lauded the remarkable transformation of Kishtwar into North India’s “power hub” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During a series of public meetings in the upper and peripheral reaches of Kishtwar, including areas like Bonjwah, Kuntwara, Dachhan, Marwah, and Warwan, Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the unprecedented developmental strides witnessed by the region in recent years.

Pointing out the historical neglect by previous governments, Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that it was only after Prime Minister Modi assumed office in 2014 that Kishtwar received the attention and investment it deserved. He underscored the significant role played by the Modi government in elevating Kishtwar from a neglected remote area to a burgeoning power center in North India.

Dr. Jitendra Singh revealed that Kishtwar is poised to emerge as a major power hub, generating approximately 6,000 MW of power upon the completion of ongoing power projects. He detailed several key hydroelectric projects, including Pakal Dul, Kiru, Ratle, Dulhasti, and Dulhasti II, which are set to significantly augment the power supply position in the region.

Highlighting the socio-economic impact of these projects, Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the creation of direct and indirect opportunities for local residents, signaling a boost for the region’s economy.

Furthermore, Dr. Jitendra Singh cited various infrastructural developments, such as the establishment of degree colleges, improved road connectivity, and the inclusion of Kishtwar on the aviation map with the sanctioning of an airport under the Centre’s UDAAN Scheme.
Addressing specific local needs, Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted initiatives undertaken for Machail, including the installation of mobile towers, construction of toilet complexes, and the fast-tracked construction of motorable roads.

Accompanied by former Minister Sunil Sharma, BJP District President Chuni Lal, and other senior leaders, Dr. Jitendra Singh’s tour underscored the commitment to fostering development and prosperity in Kishtwar and its surrounding areas.

As the region witnesses unprecedented growth and progress, the narrative of Kishtwar’s transformation into a thriving power center resonates as a testament to the vision and dedication of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
