Silkyara tunnel collapse: Trapped workers in good health and communicating with rescue teams

On Tuesday morning, the first images of the trapped workers appeared as the rescue operation in the ongoing Silkyara tunnel collapse entered Day 10. Rescue squads are making a constant effort to get in touch with them. The confined laborers have been reached by the endoscopic flexi camera. In the video, the stranded employees were smiling and in a stable mental state. Through a 6-inch pipeline, the workers were given a walkie-talkie so they could talk to the rescue crew. Saba is the name of a victim who has become trapped.

The rescue crew requested Saba to hold the walkie-talkie and name every worker who was trapped, as seen in the video. The trapped worker’s voice was unclear, but his appearance suggested that he was in good health. The workers who were stranded inside the tunnel also had breakfast prepared. The employees will receive the food via a 6-inch pipeline. On Monday night, the rescue crew succeeded in installing a 6-inch pipe that allowed the shipment of mobile phone chargers and solid food inside the collapsed Silkyara Tunnel section. A means of communication was established with each employee to obtain an update on their health.

For the first time since the incident, hot Khichdi was sent to the workers through this pipeline.
Another significant milestone was achieved as rescuers reached the tunnel with a vertical drilling machine from the upper part of the hill above the tunnel. This development comes as 41 labourers remain trapped inside the tunnel.
