Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and BJP leader Uma Bharti has distanced herself from the 2023 election campaign. Uma Bharti, who took BJP to the pinnacle of power in the 2003 assembly elections, will leave for the Himalayas on Friday. When the election campaign is at its peak, she will visit Badri-Kedar. During this time, she will introspect as to how many of the dreams of the people for which Congress was defeated in 2003 have been fulfilled.

Uma Bharti said in a post written on social media, “Almost all the candidates of our party have been declared. The manifesto of our party is yet to come in Madhya Pradesh. On the basis of this, our party will seek a mandate. I will work hard and also pray to God that our government should be formed and fulfil the unfulfilled aspirations of me and all of us.”
Uma Bharti added that today she will leave for her birthplace village Dunda, district Tikamgarh and from today till tomorrow, Chaturdashi, she will pay obeisance to the goddesses of her maternal and paternal family and head towards the Himalayas and pay obeisance to Orchha Ramraja Sarkar.

She said, “I will leave. This year, Shivraj ji did a commendable job by bringing an ideal liquor policy. During these three and a half years of Shivraj ji’s tenure, many public welfare works were also started.”

She added, “Almost all the candidates of her party have been declared, the manifesto of our party is yet to come in Madhya Pradesh on the basis of which our party will seek a mandate. I will work hard and also pray to God that our government should be formed and fulfil the unfulfilled aspirations of me and all of us. Ken-Betwa River Link which has been ready for foundation stone-laying since around 2017.

Cow promotion and cow protection measures could not reach a satisfactory level. The Panch-J campaign was not carried out completely. Also, Saraswati Mai of Dhar Bhojshala could not return to her throne despite our government in the state and at the Centre.”
She added that the doors of the temples of Someshwar of Raisen and Vijaya Devi of Vidisha could not be opened.

While Uma Bharti is praising CM Shivraj and reaffirming her commitment to the party and cadre it is clear she is displaying her displeasure by actively staying away from the campaign.
