Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Saturday that Ukraine will present its “victory plan” during the upcoming Ramstein meeting of allied nations in Germany on October 12. This meeting will mark the first convening at the leaders’ level, where Zelenskyy aims to outline “clear, concrete steps towards a just end of the war.”

Zelenskyy emphasized that halting Russia’s advances hinges on “the determination of our partners and the strengthening of Ukraine.” The previous Ramstein meeting in September saw Zelenskyy request additional weaponry to counter the escalating threat from Russian forces.

The upcoming gathering is particularly significant given its timing ahead of the US elections next month, which could potentially impact the support Ukraine receives from its largest ally. Republican candidate Donald Trump has consistently criticized the financial aid extended to Ukraine, echoing Russian perspectives on the conflict.

Additionally, Ukraine has increased its calls for authorization to utilize donated long-range weapons to target military installations deep within Russia. As Russian forces continue their advances in eastern Ukraine, facing challenges from outmanned Ukrainian troops, the urgency for a resolution to the nearly 1,000-day-long invasion intensifies.
