Indian Railways is gearing up to launch two new Vande Bharat Express trains in Rajasthan next week. The most awaited is the Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat, which will cover the journey in just 8 hours, compared to the 10–11 hours that most other express trains currently take. The second service will connect Udaipur to Jaipur, further boosting intra-state connectivity with modern, faster trains.
Departure (Jodhpur): ~5:30 AM
Arrival (Delhi Cantt): ~1:30 PM
Return (Delhi Cantt): ~3:10 PM
Arrival (Jodhpur): ~11:15 PM
The train will run six days a week, with Monday likely as a maintenance day.
Although the official list of halts has not yet been published, the train is expected to stop at key junctions to cater to maximum passengers. Likely halts include:
Jaipur Junction
Alwar
Rewari
Gurugram
Final confirmation will be available once Indian Railways releases the complete timetable.
While official fares for this service have not been published yet, we can make educated guesses based on similar Vande Bharat routes & current Delhi-Jodhpur train fares:
For regular non-Vande Bharat trains between Delhi and Jodhpur, fares range from ₹330 for basic sleeper class up to ₹2,200-₹3,300+ for higher AC classes.
Vande Bharat Express fares are usually higher than regular trains due to premium service & amenities. Considering similar distances and current Vande Bharat fare patterns, one can expect fares in the ballpark of ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 for AC Chair Car (CC) or Executive Class, depending on class and demand.
The launch of these new trains marks another step toward expanding India’s semi-high-speed rail network. For Rajasthan, it means reduced travel time, improved passenger comfort, and stronger tourism connectivity, especially for destinations like Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Udaipur.
The Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is India’s first semi-high-speed train designed and built under the government’s Make in India initiative. With modern facilities such as automatic doors, GPS-based passenger information, bio-vacuum toilets, and aircraft-style seating, it offers a comfortable and faster travel experience compared to traditional express trains.
As of mid-2025, a total of 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are running across India, connecting major cities with faster travel times and improved passenger comfort. These trains include both the full-length 16-coach versions and the shorter 8-coach "Vande Bharat Mini" variants, making them more flexible for different routes and passenger loads.
